Biography
Rev. Mr. Kurt J. Godfryd joined the Law School in 2020. A permanent deacon of the Archdiocese of Detroit, he was ordained on October 4, 2008, by his Eminence, Adam Cardinal Maida and is assigned to the North Macomb Family of Parishes that include: St. Clement of Rome, Romeo; St. John Vianney, Shelby Township; and SS. John and Paul, Washington Township. In addition, Deacon Kurt is a long-time lecturer in the Department of Economics at Oakland University and Vice-chair of the board at Alliance Catholic Credit Union in Southfield, Michigan. His work experience has spanned industry, independent-school education, and now--- higher education. Early in his career, he served as a Senior Financial Analyst at IBM Corporation. Prior to joining Detroit Mercy Law, he was Director of Business Operations for Cranbrook Schools. Married and the father of five children, he is a proud alumnus of the University.
