Biography

Professor Camesha Little is a passionate advocate for student success and an innovator in legal education. She joined the faculty at Detroit Mercy Law in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous roles as Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Academic Support & Bar Programming at Gonzaga University School of Law and National Director-West at Helix Bar Review. Professor Little is deeply committed to supporting students throughout their law school journey and beyond. She is also devoted to serving her community and has been involved with organizations such as Disability Rights Washington and the Spokane County Bar Association Diversity Section.

Professor Little's scholarly work centers on integrating academic support into the core of legal education. She believes that by weaving intentional support into every course, learning experience, and student-teacher interaction, law schools can empower students to become lifelong learners and successful practitioners. Her teaching methodology draws upon modern learning science — incorporating cutting-edge research on the human brain and learning processes — to equip students with the tools they need to thrive in the ever-evolving legal landscape. Her research explores the integration of reflective thinking and writing into legal education to foster a more holistic learning experience, enhance emotional intelligence, and cultivate professional identity development. In addition, Professor Little has presented her work at conferences and workshops, including the Lutie A. Lytle Annual Conference and Writing Workshop.
