Home Invasion/Armed Robbery Update

The Detroit Police Department recently executed a search warrant at a dwelling in the area.  Three suspects, believed to be responsible for this crime have been arrested and a large amount of stolen property recovered.  Some of the recovered property belonged to UDM students who were present during this robbery.  The investigation is still ongoing.  DPS will update the community on any further developments.

Perpetrators

  • Suspect #1 Black Male 20’s, dark complexion, dread locks, clean shaven wearing grey hoodie armed with a long gun
  • Suspect #2 Black Male 20’s face covered with a green scarf armed with a handgun

Circumstances

The Detroit Police Department and the University of Detroit Mercy, Department of Public Safety (DPS) are investigating a home invasion/ armed robbery that occurred February 6, 2016 between 3:55AM and 4:15AM. Suspect #1 knocked on the front door of the residence, and he asked if there was a party.  After being told that there was not a party, shortly thereafter, Suspect #1 returned along with Suspect #2.  The Suspects again knocked, and as the door was opened, the suspects forced their way into the residence armed with a handgun and long gun.  The occupants of the residence were ordered to lie on the ground, and they complied.  The suspects then proceeded to take keys, cell phones and wallets from the victims.  The suspects then fled the residence in an unknown direction.

Anyone who has seen a suspicious person(s) or activity during this time period is encouraged to call the DPS immediately.
