Adopt-A-Garden Program
Detroit Mercy Facility Operations is inviting student organizations, departments, volunteer groups and individuals to be a part of our Adopt-A-Garden Program. See the 2010 Adopt-A-Garden Participants below!
What is Adopt-A-Garden?
Adopt-A-Garden is a volunteer activity where organizations or groups "adopt" a flower bed on any of the University of Detroit Mercy campuses. The adoptive group is responsible for planting and maintaining the bed during the spring, summer, and fall.
What will you need?
Facility Operations will provide all planting materials and tools. Volunteer groups need to provide energy, time, and enthusiasm! Adopting a garden is a great way to promote your organization and become closer with your peers!
When do we start?
Kick-off to the season starts the first week of May with Volunteer Flower Day, where groups can plant their gardens! The adoptive group is responsible for planting and maintaining the bed during the spring, summer, and fall.
How much does it cost?
FREE! Adopting a garden is free and is done on an annual basis. By adopting, your organization receives the flowers needed for your garden, accessibility to planting supplies, and a personalized Adopt-A-Bed sign displaying your organization's name in your garden.
Interested?
If your group would like to Adopt-A-Garden, please fill out the Request form and bring it to Facility Operations.
2010 Adopt-A-Garden Participants
