Satisfaction Survey
Your Opinion Matters!
As part of Detroit Mercy’s commitment to improving campus life, the University is conducting Student and Employee Satisfaction Surveys, which will run from Tuesday, March 18 through Wednesday, April 30.
The confidential surveys will provide critical insight that will help the institution and is a chance for both students and employees to have their voices heard.
The survey is user-friendly and can be completed on any device, including a computer, tablet, or phone.
In appreciation for completing the survey, students will be entered into bi-weekly drawings to win gift cards up to $250! The earlier you complete the survey, the better your odds at winning higher amounts.
Employees who complete their survey are also entered into a drawing to win gift cards valued up to $250! The first 50 employees to finish their survey are guaranteed a prize. The incentives apply to all campuses at the University.
Check your udmercy.edu email for your personalized link to complete the survey.
The survey is run through Ruffalo Noel Levitz, which works with more than 1,900 campuses and nonprofits nationally.
Three surveys will be administered by the University:
- Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI) — For Detroit Mercy undergraduate students.
- Adult Student Priorities Survey (ASPS) — For UDM graduate, professional and doctoral students.
- College Employee Satisfaction Survey (CESS) — For faculty, staff and administration at the University.
-
Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI)
The Student Satisfaction Inventory (SSI), for undergraduate students, gives Detroit Mercy a powerful tool to improve the quality of student life and learning.
It measures student satisfaction and priorities, showing how satisfied students are as well as what issues are important to them. It captures experiences across all colleges and class levels, from inside of the classroom to campus life and beyond.
This data is valuable and can be used to:
- Guide strategic action planning
- Strengthen student retention initiatives
- Meet accreditation requirements
- Identify areas of strength for institutional marketing
- Chart your progress toward campus goals
This survey is administered every three years.
The RNL Satisfaction-Priorities Surveys have been taken by more than 7 million students at 3,000 campuses since 1994.
-
Adult Student Priorities Survey (ASPS)
The Adult Student Priorities Survey (ASPS) provides the University with valuable information from graduate, professional and doctoral students.
The ASPS captures a variety of experiences from non-traditional students, which may be different than undergraduate students at UDM. The survey helps capture experiences, including:
- Instructional effectiveness
- Academic advising
- Registration effectiveness
- Campus climate
- Safety and security
- Recruitment and financial aid
The findings from this survey, along with the others, help provide leadership with direction for the future of the University.
-
College Employee Satisfaction Survey (CESS)
The College Employee Satisfaction Survey (CESS) helps UDM assess the satisfaction of staff, faculty and administration, the experience, the campus culture, work-life balance, and areas for improvement. It is open to all employees of the University, across all campuses.
CESS was refreshed in 2024 to focus on employee engagement, priorities in work-life balance, satisfaction, and likelihood to retain at the University. With the data from the survey, Detroit Mercy will have a better gauge on assessing employee engagement, understanding perception of work environment and culture, identifying which institutional goals are most important, among other areas.
The insights from the last survey helped shape meaningful improvements across campus, including:
- Boosting Morale: Adding Presidential Holidays and extending breaks for UDM's Corktown Campus, while also introducing Titan Tuesdays, which brings all at the University together to celebrate our Titan spirit!
- Employee Suggestion Form: The University has launched a new way for employees to share their ideas directly with administration. Whether it's a suggestion for improvement or an idea for innovation, Titans are encouraged to submit their ideas.
- Campus Enhancements: From vibrant murals and new signage to improved wayfinding, the University's campuses are noticeably different. The updates are designed to create a more engaging and navigable environment for everyone.
- Performance Review System: To help you grow and succeed, UDM has implemented a comprehensive performance review system. The process will provide meaningful feedback and support for professional development.
