On behalf of the Office of Academic Affairs and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, we are pleased to announce the eleventh annual Fall Colleague Development Days. The professional development activities, open to all Detroit Mercy faculty, staff, and administrators, are scheduled for August 17-19, 2021 on the McNichols Campus. The links for registration and program session descriptions are at the end of this message.

We have robust programming this year with a keynote address and two featured speaker sessions. The topics for the sessions include:

  • Becoming a JEDI Advocate – Justice Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
  • How Civility can be Exclusionary
  • Voice Care for Professional Voice Users

In addition to the keynote and featured speaker sessions, there will be two and one-half days of concurrent sessions that highlight a variety of topics for all members of the university community including assessment, proposal writing, enhancing your virtual presence, communication, taking notes, and mentoring.

Complete details about the speakers and descriptions of the sessions are included in the schedule that can be found at this link: View the Schedule

We encourage faculty, staff, and administrators to review the objectives and session descriptions to learn more about the content and the presenters.

On Tuesday, August 17th, we will start the day with coffee, pastries and fruit. Concurrently Tuesday morning, Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos from Mission Integration, will host conversations with colleagues around various topics from what you did last summer to concerns as we return. Food trucks will be available for lunch that day. On Wednesday, August 18th, lunch will be provided in the McNichols campus library to allow you to catch up with colleagues from all our campuses.

To register for sessions and our networking lunch, click the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/164313091881

Final building/room assignments and a food order will be based on the RSVP’s received. Your prompt registration for sessions and meals is sincerely appreciated to assist with planning. Registration will close on Monday, August 9th at 11:59 p.m.
