Each year, U.S. News & World Report ranks professional school programs in business, education, engineering, law, medicine and nursing, including specialties in each area.
The Best Graduate Schools rankings in these areas are based on two types of data – expert opinion about program excellence and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school's faculty, research, and students and their post-graduate outcomes.
The data for the rankings in all four disciplines came from statistical and reputation surveys sent to academics and professionals, conducted in fall 2023 and early 2024. In some cases, data from these surveys was combined with third party-sourced information. To gather the peer assessment data, U.S. News asked deans, program directors and senior faculty to judge the academic quality of programs in their field on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding).
