Detroit Mercy men's soccer makes impact off the field
The University of Detroit Mercy men's soccer team has consistently performed well academically and on the field, but is also making an impact off the field in the community.
Jackson Towers, a UDM graduate student and captain for the Titans, and many others from the men's soccer squad have connected with Adam Clarke through a program called Team IMPACT, which helps kids and teams change each other's lives through their shared love of sports.
Adam has been a fixture with the men's soccer team and the connection extends beyond games, with Jackson, Adam and other Titans spending time together away from the pitch. The team even surprised Adam at one of his hockey games and have bonded over a shared love for burgers.
"Jackson, along with the team, have shown Adam how to develop a meaningful friendship," said Adam's mother, Kara. "It was something that our family just was not able to do. But this team, they did it in a way that Adam could relate. Jackson is always willing to go above and beyond, and he consistently embraces Adam as a friend and teammate."
