Detroit Mercy Awarded 2023-24 Military Friendly Designation
For the tenth consecutive year, Detroit Mercy has been recognized as a 2023-24 Military Friendly School in the Military Friendly list of schools that serve veterans and service members.
In the 14 years since its creation, the list has become the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful opportunities for the military community.
"We are very pleased that UDM is once again recognized as a Military Friendly School,” said Detroit Mercy President Donald B. Taylor. “Serving all our veterans by providing exceptional educational opportunities to them is the least we can do. They have faithfully served our country and now we are honored to help them succeed academically and professionally."
More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-24 survey, with only 530 schools from across the country receiving the designation. UDM earned its place among the ranks for the many services designated for veterans and dependents that promote student support and success through one-on-one counseling.
The information evaluated to create the comprehensive guide for veterans and their families is collected from public data sources, proprietary surveys and personal input from veterans themselves. Additionally, the list uses a logic-based assessment that measures a school's ability for retention, graduation and job placement to provide the best opportunities for veterans, active service members and their spouses.
The 2023-24 Military Friendly Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
