Davis first Titan men's basketball student-athlete to earn CoSIDA honor
Detroit Mercy senior Antoine Davis became the first Titan men’s basketball student-athlete in school history to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors after he received the accolade from the national organization on Thursday.
The Academic All-District teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performance in the classroom and on the playing field.
Davis is the 31st Titan in school history across all sports to be recognized as an All-District honoree and was one of just two Horizon League men’s basketball student-athletes to receive to laurel in 2021-22.
Davis has broken numerous school and conference records during the 2021-22 season, including becoming Detroit Mercy’s all-time leading scorer when he surpassed Titan Hall of Famer Rashad Phillips with 2,320 points in early January. He ranks in the top-50 all-time in NCAA Division I basketball history in career scoring with more than 2,550 points to date.
Davis holds a 3.39 GPA in Communications. He's led the country in scoring for much of the season and currently ranks second in scoring at 23.4 points per game entering the final stretch of the regular season.
