Biography

Caitlin Snyder has joined the University of Detroit Mercy's College of Engineering & Science as a Computer Science Instructor. She grew up in Detroit and has come back to the city after earning her PhD in Computer Science at Vanderbilt University. Snyder also holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from Xavier University.

Her research interests are primarily focused on AI in Education. Her dissertation research centered around leveraging multimodal learning analytics to better understand and support students' collaborative problem solving. Snyder is passionate about the involvement of students and teachers in the design, development and application of AI in the classroom.

In addition to her research, Snyder is a huge fan of Detroit sport teams (Go Lions!), an avid reader of fiction, and loves dogs.
