Biography
Professor Wittig served as Dean of the School of Architecture & Community Development at University of Detroit Mercy from 2011-2019, overseeing all academic programs as well as the Detroit Collaborative Design Center. He is currently serving as Past-President of the Michigan chapter of the American Institute of Architects as well as several other boards including the Detroit City of Design Stewardship Board.
Wittig earned a Masters of Architecture from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a professional Bachelors of Architecture from the University of Kansas. Prior to his appointment at Detroit Mercy, Wittig taught for two years at the Taubman College at the University of Michigan, where he was a William A. Oberdick Fellow. He was also previously a founding partner of Crossings Architecture, Inc. in Detroit.
