Biography

Ordained since 2021, Fr. Jeff Dorr, S.J. has spent all of his time as a priest in Detroit. Before starting at University of Detroit Mercy, he worked for two years as associate pastor of Gesu Catholic Church, across the street from UDM's McNichols Campus. Additionally, he’s worked as a chaplain at the Detroit-area addiction recovery center, Guest House. He’s been privileged to work as a middle school and high school teacher in Pine Ridge, S.D., and Omaha, Neb., respectively. Additionally, he’s been a university chaplain for a ministry to the un-housed in St Louis, and has been lucky enough to be a spiritual director and spirituality group facilitator in a variety of contexts.He enjoys baking and gathering people together to share meals as well as growing to know and embrace different neighborhoods and their communities.
