Pledge
As members of the Detroit Mercy community, we all play an important role in the Titans Together effort. We share a mutual obligation to care for each other and the Titans Together Pledge supports our Jesuit and Mercy mission. Please help our community by taking this pledge to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and to ensure the health and safety of everyone who graces our campuses.
DETROIT MERCY PLEDGES TO:
- Put the health and safety of every student and employee at the center of all policy discussions.
- Put in place effective, easy-to-follow policies based on science and effectively communicate and enforce these policies.
- Empower students to speak up when they have concerns about the health and safety of themselves and others.
- Ensure students have access to safe spaces and proper technology to succeed in classes.
- Take every measure we can to keep our campuses safe.
I PLEDGE TO:
- Monitor for the symptoms of COVID-19 and report to a medical professional if I experience fever of 100.4 F (38 C) or higher, dry cough, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or loss of taste or smell.
- Wash my hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
- Strongly consider being vaccinated for the flu in the fall.
- Maintain appropriate social distancing and follow all guidelines established by the University.
- Stay home if I feel ill or after exposure to someone who is ill or has tested positive for COVID-19.
- Wear an appropriate face covering and other protective gear as directed by the University in order to protect community members, friends, colleagues, loved ones and ourselves.
- Be positive, sensitive and helpful to anyone around who may be troubled or struggling.
- Keep my clothing, belongings, and personal spaces and shared common spaces clean.
- Participate in testing and contact tracing to preserve the wellness of the community.
- Carefully observe instructional signs and follow directions.
- We are Titans Together for each other and against COVID-19.
