Detroit Mercy will honor veterans on Veteran's Day Nov. 12 at the McNichols Campus with a special Pinning Ceremony. This event takes place in the Student Union Ballroom from 1 to 2 p.m. and is open to the public.

Veteran's Day falls on Sunday, Nov. 11, but since the University is closed, Detroit Mercy will celebrate the day Nov. 12.

This Pinning ceremony will publicly acknowledge the military service and sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. The ceremony gives an opportunity for each veteran in attendance to share part of their story regarding their service and sacrifice for our country.

Members of all branches of the U.S. Armed Services are cordially invited to participate, including active, retired and reserve personnel.

Detroit Mercy is honored to have in attendance members of the Vietnam Veterans of America (Detroit) Chapter 9, Michigan Veterans Foundation and Detroit VA Medical Center. In addition, current students from the University and Gesu Catholic School will honor veterans during the ceremony.

Light refreshments will be available following the program. The Office of Student Life and Student Programming Board are sponsoring this special event. Individuals with disabilities who require accommodations may contact the Student Life Office at 313-993-1154.

Detroit Mercy extends its sincerest thanks and love to all our veterans for your service and sacrifice.
