As a part of the PTV program, students will have a chance to personally become a part of the Detroit Mercy Mission by spending one morning doing service at a social service agency that is doing positive things in Detroit. Because the work often involves gardening, clean-up work or even painting, students need to wear clothes that can get dirty. Students may NOT wear open-toed shoes, sandals or flip-flops. Gym shoes or casual shoes work very well. Finally, some of the sites do not allow tank-tops, so please bring a shirt to wear that has sleeves.
At the end of PTV, students will take part in the First-Year Convocation. This event formally marks the beginning of the college experiences and officially welcomes the freshman class to Detroit Mercy. Students should plan to wear business casual attire to First-Year Convocation.
