“I was a five-year MBA candidate and earned my certificate in the Spanish language. Detroit Mercy’s foreign language program offers a lot of opportunities. I did a study abroad in Greece and took a class in Korean, as I plan to do a semester abroad in Korea. The professors in the foreign language classes are native speakers, so the classes are not just taking tests and memorizing vocabulary. We learn about culture and history, too. Learning another language makes you think in an entirely different way, and it definitely improves your critical thinking skills.”
